What is Clovera Chat?
Clovera Chat is a messaging platform published by Kitteniverse Studios. It exists to remove the two things that most often end a conversation before it starts: not sharing a language, and not trusting the channel.
Live translation, not a translate button
Translation is not something you press after the fact. A message is carried into the reader's language as it arrives — in direct messages, in group conversations and inside community channels alike. Everyone writes in the language they think in, and everyone reads in the language they think in. The interface itself speaks ten languages, so the app around the conversation matches the conversation.
Encrypted before it is stored
Direct messages, group conversations, community messages, post bodies and the files sent with them are encrypted with ChaCha20-Poly1305 at the application layer before they are written down, so what sits in the database is ciphertext rather than your conversations. Passwords are not stored at all — only a strong hash of them. To be precise about what this is: Clovera Chat's servers hold the key and decrypt content to deliver it to the people in a conversation, and when a translation or a safety review runs over it. That is storage encryption, not end-to-end encryption, and the privacy policy says the same thing in the same words.
The problem it solves
Group conversations break down in two familiar ways. Someone switches to a language half the room does not read, and the room quietly splits in two. Or a conversation turns private enough that people move it somewhere else, and the thread is lost. Clovera Chat is built so that neither has to happen.
What else is in it
Around those two guarantees sit communities with text, announcement, forum, mission and voice channels; a public topic feed anyone can read without an account; blogs for anything longer than a message; voice calls; and a profile you lay out block by block.
Who publishes it
Clovera Chat is a product, not a company. It is developed and published by Kitteniverse Studios, which is responsible for the terms of service, the privacy notices and everything else that carries a signature. Clovera Chat is the app; Kitteniverse Studios is the studio behind it.
